SWACA

Established in 1999 the South West Association of Children’s Anaesthetists (SWACA) is a network of clinicians with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia within the South West of England.

SWACA promotes improvement, education and training in paediatric anaesthesia throughout the South West and organises an annual meeting.

SWACA endeavours to ensure that children within the South West have care delivered in the right place, in a timely way and by clinicians with up-to-date training and skills.

SWACA appreciates and values the support from colleagues at our tertiary centre, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC), and the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of GB & Ireland (APAGBI).

SWACA supports and promotes the hard work and achievements of Anaesthetists in Training, which is exemplified in SWARM, STAR and PATRN.

SWACA has representation within the working groups of the South West Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network (SW SIC ODN).
