There is no substitute for clinical experience at a tertiary centre with a paediatric cardiac service.
No single book or review article will give you a comprehensive overview of congenital heart disease, but if interested the book The Field Guide to Congenital Heart Disease and Repair (Allen D. Everett & D. Scott Lim; 3rd Ed, 2011) is a great starting place, along the Heart Defects section on the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital YouTube channel, which contains some excellent videos. Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute have also produced two apps which are informative: Heartpedia (see the conditions section) and Surgical Animate!
